Road Food
I have learned that Bella "instantly" becomes hungry as soon as we start driving down the road...and from that point on I take on the role of flight attendant. So on the days that we are traveling, I like to prepare snacks ahead of time...chopping up yummy treats and putting them in the fridge so that I don't have to be doing that as we drive. On this particular day, we were having bananas, blueberries, and oranges. We also have a drawer of snacks that is low and easily accessible for Bella. She knows that she can go there at any time and grab whatever she wants. It's stocked with pretzels, food bars, dried fruits, crackers, etc. She feels empowered to make her own decisions regarding food, and it takes some of the stress off of me!

such good road food choices. I am also suckered into the cheese and crackers when on the road... I do like my carrots and hummus though! I will have to remember these for future trips to try and keep it a bit more healthy for all of us.
I want some of those!! jaja nice trip!!!
Sounds smart. Glad you live and learn... My mom always seemed to forget my annoying routine whining about food, the potty or whatever and would have to endure the pains of my voice for the duration of a car trip if she wasn't prepared ahead of time, hahah.
When my husband went out in the CG I was so tired. I would take a loaf of bread and make sandwiches with it. I would wrap them and put them in one of the fridge drawers. The other was other easy to grab foods. It really saved my sanity and ensured our oldest child had good food to eat.
That is such a wonderful idea. You could also use a muffin pan and fill it up with fresh fruits and veggies and put it in the fridge. We used to call it our snack bar.
That is one of those things about RV living/travel that is such a bonus - being able to stock some food and have a place to keep healthy snacks. Yum!
That is a great idea to have a designated place for kids snacks so they can help themselves. I need to have a place like that in the pantry and fridge. My boys are constantly "staaaaaaaarving". I am loving all these blog posts!
So fun to keep up with you guys!
We do a similar for Wally at home - I use an old egg carton and it's his Snack Tray in the fridge. Sliced apples, orange pieces, carrots, hummus, peanut butter, raisins, nuts, and whatever else we have on hand goes in there, and he can get it any time. He loves the Snack Tray better than just simply helping himself to an apple or an orange or whatever. His yogurt goes on the shelf next to the Snack Tray, and he's all set.
