Happy Hooping
Last weekend, we headed to Austin with several of our friends for a hooping meetup...affectionately known as "Hoop Church", as it's held on Sunday. The girls hooped and hooped and hooped. We learned new tricks and we left with new bruises. It was a gorgeous day. The boys sat around and drank iced coffees and lavender lemonades. They had a good time chatting about life on the road and cheering us on.

I just blogged about my hooping obsession over at Walk Slowly. Can't wait to hoop all summer in the sunshine! And then, when there isn't any more sun and warmth to hoop in, we'll drive to where there IS sun and warmth! Ahhhhh....the traveling life. Gotta love it.
Hoop Love photo set here. More to come!

This is my first time commenting here...It's so weird, I noticed you wearing the Fivefingers shoes! My husband just got his in the mail yesterday and he loves them. I'm thinking about getting some myself...I was eyeballing that same color too! You make them look so stylish! hehe I love each one of your blogs :) You and your family are so inspirational :)

Thanks for turning a bunch of us on to hooping! Can't wait for my collapsable hoop to arrive so that I can catch up to all you hooping ladies :)
Are the hoops hand-decorated or purchased like that? Wondering if my girls and I could make our hoops fancier:)
This looks like a blast!!

Kika - You can purchase or make your own...they are usually black and then you add whatever tape you want. Or, if you're purchasing it, you tell them what colors to use, etc.
Hi Sara,
I've been reading your blog for about a month now, and I could comment on many of the fun/interesting/inspirational things you write, but this is the first time I have. I have never been able to keep a hoop going...until I tried a water weighted one at a music festival last summer. Like you, I was hooked! I had an instant perma-grin!! I have wanted to make/buy one ever since, but haven't gotten around to it. Thanks for posting a "how-to", now I have no excuses.
Is your hoop weighted? If so, how much weight do you suggest??

P.S. I'm trying to talk my husband into selling everything and buying a bus or RV and living on the road, roadschooling our kids for a year. He is a little more rooted than I am, so I'm giving myself a year to talk him into it. If you ever find yourself in Maine, perhaps you can stop by and convert him! ;-)
I hate to brag...but I am a hula hoop champ. I would hoop all the live long day as a child and have since won not one - but 2 competitions as an adult!
(i felt like this blog post was my only shot in the world at sharing this talent with the world) :-)
Loving this idea - thanks for the links in your other post - my 10yr old and I were totally entranced!
I took my first http://lowest-rate-loans.com when I was not very old and this helped my relatives a lot. But, I need the consolidation loans over again.
